This is the card that I made using an new image from Marika Collins called Tess. What a super cute image that could be used as a going away card, have a good trip or a newly graduated child that is ready to move out. I did it in pinks and smokey blue colors with the black back ground.

Crafty Squirrel May 22

Hi welcome back to my blog!

Today is a cooler day here with a bit of wind and some showers, a perfect day to be inside creating something.

I made this card a couple weeks ago for my husband for his birthday but never shared it with you yet, seems like a waste not to ...so here goes.  I made a vertical stair card. I have seen these type of cards on the internet but have never created one for myself. I tried to get a template but the sizes of them didn't seem to match the size of card I wanted to make. I typically make 6 x 6 cards, so when the templates never matched I sat down to create my own. I'm not going to lie it quite sometime to make it work and have all the measurements the same on the stairs but I finally got it and love the outcome of it.

I create this card using a sure cute image from Whimsy Stamps by designer Miss Rach called Crafty Squirrel, colored it with copics and used earthy colors to match  to make the card.

 My card is a 6 x 6 card, the front piece is a piece of cardstock  measuring 7 5/8" wide by 5 7/8" high. From the top left corner I measured down 1" and made a vertical line( which you score), from there I made another line horizontal this time 2 " long ( which you cut with your trimmer). This is the format that I used all the way down the stairs until I was at the bottom right corner. Once I cut and scored all the stairs I then center it on the front 6 x 6 piece of my card. I hope that you understand what I am explaining. It's hard to explain a template, but if you  think of the way stairs work it does make total sense.

I think the picture helps as well, then I added pattered paper to each of the stairs so it complimented my card.

Here is my card using this stunning image called Grace from Whimsy digital designer Marrika Collins.

I wanted this image to be a bit vintage. I decided to go with a color that I really haven't used very much, a coral with a little touch of black and dark red to accent. I added a small amount of liquid pearl to her head piece and around the image it's self.

April 17 -Nora

Good Morning to you!

I just posted this card on the Whimsy blog to show a little creative inspiration.

It's cooled right off here in Alberta and is now snowing, was nice a few days ago but seems like we have a little bit of winter back. It would be so nice to be able to wear shorts like the image on my card.... but not now I guess. I sure can not wait for summer to get here, no more winter clothes would be nice. I just want flowers, birds and warm sunshine short weather.It will come soon enough right. Well any ways here is my card....

  This is a  new card that I made using a new great image from Whimsy Stamps from designer Marika Collins collection called Nora. This is a super cute image that worked wonderful on the side step card I made. The corner die as well as the sentiment are also from Whimsy Stamps. The die is called Lace Doily corner and the sentiment is a rubber one called Ticket Notes.

April challenge anything goes

Good Morning!

Well it's time for another challenge on the Whimsy challenge blog "Anything Goes".

That is pretty straight forward , I hope to see you make a creation and enter it on the Whimsy challenge blog for a chance to win some really wonderful digi's from some very talented designers. Click here to check out some other fabulous creations from Whimsy's digital design team.

I know I have been pretty quiet the last little while sorry about that, I went on a little trip with my husband and a few days after that I took a bit of a fall. Landed straight on my back, as I was falling I happened to grab my husband just out of instinct to stop my fall..... but well that plan didn't work. He wasn't prepared either so I took him down with me. He landed right on top of me. A few bruises and I think maybe some cracked ribs cause man It hurt to move my arm and breath. Not fun at all. But now I'm felling a bit better and I can move my arm again, I did a lot of rest to heal. So now to the matter at hand ....

My creation!

The card I created for the challenge is made from a super digital image called Froggie  Hoppy Day from designer Crissy Armstrong found at Whimsy Stamps. I colored him with copic markers and added some fun whimsical dots around the outside of the image. The purple and green colors I used work well together, bright and fun for a birthday card for anyone.
