Anything but square!
Thats the challenge theme for this week at Whimsy.
This last week has been absolutely crazy busy, it has flown by so fast. I have been busy trying to get prepared for my daughters graduation. I was also gone for a few days, so now trying to play catch up on everything. I did get this card done and posted. I was a bit later posting it than I would like, but none the less it's on my blog. I love these images, they are from Whimsy Stamps by designer Crissy Armstrong. The fish on the left side of the card is Gertie and the fish on the right is Gunther fish. Aren't they cute,  I added a bit of sparkle to them with my copic Atyou Spica pens.
I used my Double Scallop Doily Die that I got from Whimsy Stamps again, I just love it. You should check out the other DT's fabulous cards on the Whimsy insiration blog, just click here and it will take you over the the blog.
Here is my anything but square card.

Welcome back to my blog.
Another week has flown by ~wow crazy.
The challenge for this week at Whimsy is White on White.
I wasn't to sure how this card would turn out just because once again something new, that threw me out of my comfort zone. It's not a bad thing really just something I have never done before. I typically like lots of layers and color to match and make things pop out. If I do add a lot of white on a card I really add alot of distressing on the edges of the cut pieces, to give alot of dimension. Not for this challenge though  it is kind of like monochromatic but with white. I am actually really happy with my card, it turned out really nice. So have all the Whimsy DT cards they are all beautiful, you should click here and check them out. There are alot of really fabulous ideas. I am really hoping that this inspires you to maybe try to make a White on White card and add it to the Challenge this week. The image that I chose to used this week is from the Moon Cookie collection called "Romantic Bouquet". A great image-  it's like giving a bouquet of flowers to someone, they are wonderful images to work with. You should check them out at the Whimsy Stamps Store.

These flowers are cut from a Memory Box die cut, I foam squared in between the bottom and second flowers to give it dimension. The scallop circle is a die cut from Whimsy its called a Double Scallop Doily Die - I just got it in the mail and couldn't wait to use it.

This is a cute little stamp that I got in my Whimsy order that I received recently. This picture also shows the cut corner dies from Whimsy Stamps. It comes with 4 corner dies.
 Love them all.

Supplies: Whimsy Stamps digital image Romantic Bouquet, corner die set, Double Scallop Doily Die, Copic Markers, Spellbinder Labels Twenty-Two & Labels Seventeen, Provo craft Cuttlebug folder Leafy Branch, Kaiser Craft Snow Pearls, Bazzill cardstock, ribbon.

June 13 Buttons and Bows Challenge

Wow, June is half over already where does the time go.
It's Wednesday already so another challenge is up and running.
The challenge for this week is buttons and bows.
I did this graduation card with the image Little Bear Graduation from Whimsy Stamps by Stampart Design, it's super cute and comes with the sentiment congratulations as well.
My daughters graduation is at the end of this month so I'm sure this card will come in handle for a friend or her escort who is graduating as well.I also found this wonderful ribbon with class of 2012 on it, I originally bought it to put on her grad invitations which I  am in the middle of doing right now. The days are rushing by so it's crunch time now , her invites will be fushia the color of her grad dress and black. I will post one as soon as I finish making them.
I really enjoyed working with this image and the challenge theme this week, click here to hop over to the Whimsy blog to check out some wonderful creations from the other Dt's.

How exciting Kenny K is having a DT call!

I have created a couple of new cards and brought out some previously created ones to put up on my blog and enter into this exciting DT call.
Thank you for the great opportunity to possibly work with Kenny K as a DT member.
Here are some examples of my work.

This is Devilish Donna.

Trouble maker with a background stamp that really adds to the look of the card.
Wedding Garter

This card was made using Star and Rock Chick

I made this card for my nephew's 16 th birthday using Teen Idol

An angle view of my card to show the fold of the card.

This was made using Soho. I made the planet myself using a circle for the planet and the rings are made using an oval. I then trimmed the ovals at each end so that the rings looked like they would wrap around the planet. It is all foam squared up to give it the dimension that I wanted.

Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to look.
Thank you once again for the opportunity.

June 6 Challenge Things with Wings.

Welcome back to my blog.
This week the challenge is things with wings.
This could be anything from bugs to fairies, of which I love all, but dragonflies are my favorite. So this image was a really easy choice for me. I love the way dragonflies are shaped the variety of colors that they have they are magnificent.
Plus with the loss of someone that was very dear to my heart a friend had told me to goggle the story of the dragonfly. So I  got on the Internet and found the story, wow brought tears to my eyes. The story is basically comparing the growth of the dragonfly from a larva to that of a loved one going to heaven. The dragonfly larva never understood why every once in a while a larva would grow into a dragonfly and leave the pond. Every time one left they would say how they would come back to tell everyone how wonderful it was and what happened  on the other side , but no one did.  The larva turned into dragonflies and could not return to the water to tell all his family and friends what happened. Just as when we loose a loved one they can't come back and tell us how wonderful it is on the other side. This also is my favorite movie title, it has Kevin Costner in it and is called Dragonfly a truly wonderful movie. I truly love both of these stories, if you have ever lost someone this story is worth looking for. So this is my creation using my most favorite thing  -- The dragonfly.
This image is from Whimsy Stamps and is by Liastampz called Dragonfly.
You should hop over to the Whimsy Inspiration challenge as well to check out all the wonderful creations from all the other Dt's.
Here is my card I hope it as well as my story will inspire you:

June 1 Digi hop.

It's June 1 which means it's time for another digi hop from Whimsy.
This digi hop will run from today June 1 until Friday June 8.
So all you have to do for chances to win is to start at the top of the list of the DT members and leave a comment on each of their cards.
There will be two random winners  that will receive a digital image of their choice and one grand prize winner that will receive 5 digital images of their choice.
Pretty easy right, hope you'll take a few minutes to leave each of us a comment. The order of the hop is below with links to each persons blog, if you get lost you can hop back over to the Whimsy blog to get straightened out.
Start here:

Charlene Brown ( that's me)

So here is my Digi Hop creation:
It is using a very elegant image from Whimsy Stamps by Stampart Design called Inspirational Cross.
I'm very happy with how my card turned out, I reall wanted the digital image to stand out, I think the red and black of the card gives it an simple elegant feel. The sentiment that comes with the image is pretty small and hard to read. It simply says" Thy word have I hid in mine heart" from Psalm 119:11
A closer look at the detail on my card.
Supplies: Digital image from Whimsy Stamps by Stampart Design, Fleur de lis rectangle and Foliage spellbinder, Copic markers, Bazzill cardstock, Martha Stewart branch punch, ribbon.
