Jan. 25 Challenge Pearls or Bling

Well, Hi another week has flown by already and it's Wednesday January 25. That means it's time for another challenge from Whimsy.

This week the challenge is Pearls or Bling.

This challenge pretty much lets you do just about anything as long as you have added pearls or bling to your project. So I hope that your up for the challenge and will make a card or project and play along for a chance to win a free digital stamp from Whimsy Stamps. Here's the card that I have made for this weeks challenge. I used a digital image from Whimsy Stamps by Chrissy Armstrong called Daisy Butterfly. I colored the image with copic markers using a feathering technique to get the 2 colors on the wings to blend together and then added some stickles for a little glitter effect.

The saying is so true I could not resist adding this sentiment to this card.

Here is a close up of the flower that I put in the corner of my card. I used Kaiser Craft flowers, and in between the bottom and middle layer of flowers I added some ribbon to help the flower have a little more of a dramatic effect. Then I added some pearls to give the flower a center and a few punched out butterflies with some stickles on them for a little extra detail.

Supplies: Daisy Butterfly from Whimsy Stamps, Copic markers, Spellbinders: Fleur de Lis Rectangle & Fancy Tags, Kaiser Craft Pearls, patterned paper & flowers, Technique Tuesday sentiment stamp, Martha Stewart buttery punch, ribbon, Ranger Star Dust Stickles & purple distress ink.

Jan 18 challenge Brown and Blue

The Challenge for January 18 is Brown & Blue.

Wow the temperatures here have dropped here down to -33oC with a wind chill that's crazy cold about -44. A really good time to stay indoors and do the really great things that you enjoy like making a card or a project. This is the card that I have made for the Brown & Blue challenge. I used a super great stamp from Lia stampz called New Mail Cat, from Whimsy Stamps Hope to see you make a creation and play along with us at Whimsy inspires blog.

My colored image of the stamp

In the right top corner I made a couple of envelopes using Kraft paper the I made a couple of letters from the mouse to the cat and addressed it accordingly. I had a lot of fun doing this card. I hope that you are up for the challenge and will play along with us at Whimsy.

Jan, 11 Birthday Challenge

Wow the days in this month are already flying by January 11 already, I hope the start of 2012 has been awesome for you. Glad to see that you have popped back to check out my blog this week.

The challenge theme this week with Whimsy is birthday. So I used the cutest little bear image by Stamp Art Designs from Whimsy Stamps called Teddy's Surprise Package. This stamp is very versatile, I used it to make Christmas cards and now am using it to make a birthday card. I love when you can do that with images. I drew out some balloons and colored them with copic markers to help add to the theme of birthday. I'd love to see you make a creation and play along with us at the Whimsy Inspiration blog, I hope your up for the challenge. Here is a picture of my card that kind of will show you some of the dimension that I used. It is really hard to get a photo that shows it off really well. I cut out the center of my card with a spellbinder then foam squared the background paper on. The bear is then foam squared to the background. The balloons are foam squared as well just not as high as the bear.

Supplies: Teddy's surprise Package image from Whimsy stamps, copic markers, Spellbinder Labels seventeen, Happy Birthday stamp from hero arts, Patterned paper from kaiser Craft and Fancy pants, Bazzill cardstock and ribbon.

New Beginnings

New Beginnings.

When you see that title what do you think: Do you think new job, new year, new start, new baby.

It could mean so many things, well when I looked at the title for this challenge I knew exactly what I was going to do - New Baby.

I thought of this new image called Raggedy baby Girl by StampArt Design from Whimsy stamps. Alot of communities celebrate a New Years baby, this image is a baby girl image so it had to be done in pink of course. So I hope that you will play along with us at the Whimsy blog and create a card/project to celebrate something "New".
